About Spartan Global Development Fund

Spartan Global is a student-run initiative at Michigan State University and a proudly registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Spartan Global consists of students, professors, and alumni who work to foster positive social and economic empowerment through the extension of interest-free microloans to aspiring entrepreneurs in impoverished communities throughout the developing world. Spartan Global maintains a loan portfolio on Kiva to connect with hundreds of funding agencies. Additionally, Spartan Global works directly with humanitarian organizations on-the-ground in target communities to facilitate microloans. Since beginning in 2009, Spartan Global and our partners have disbursed over $97,000 in microloans to 2,500+ entrepreneurs in 74 countries while maintaining above a 99% repayment rate.
