SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Section

SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Section, previously known as the SPE WIN WoMen in Hydraulic Fracturing community. The purpose of this Section shall be to further the objectives of the Society in the open discussion of matters relating to hydraulic fracturing, to generate awareness on industry best practices, and to promote those practices widely. The Vision of the Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Section is as follows:  Capability development related to Hydraulic Fracturing technology through on-line events, online networking, workshops, and conferences.  Encourage SPE global outreach and diversity, with emphasis on recognition of professional women in the oilfield, and their contribution to the hydraulic fracturing community. This should include having an event recognizing women in hydraulic fracturing at the Hydraulic Fracturing Conferences annually.  Transfer of knowledge and best practices through meetings, events, communications, articles in JPT, TWA, and other SPE publications; technical papers and presentations; and SPE Connect.  Promotion of professionalism, certification, and Distinguished Lecturer programming applicable to hydraulic fracturing operations.  Nomination of worthy candidates for SPE Awards in the domain.  Promote sustainability and mitigate the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing in pursuit of operational excellence.  Encourage the digitalization and automation of hydraulic fracturing technology.  Support for public education through contributions and student engagement. The FASTS will recognize female professionals in the oil field and their contribution in the community through representations in leadership positions at the Board of Directors levels and at other areas of activities such as giving them opportunities to present within the technical section.
