SPE LUZ Student Chapter

Universidad del Zulia SPE Student Chapter was founded in 1992 and is a pioneer in Venezuela as an official student organization of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Student Chapters are formed by groups of students following a petroleum engineering or related curriculum at a college or university. The major aim of the Student Chapters is to develop a variety of activities in order to establish an effective contact among the academic staff and petroleum companies, as well as to disseminate the research works and thesis on Petroleum Science and Engineering of DEP (Petroleum Engineering Department) graduate students, professors, and SPE members. SPE currently has more than 170 student chapters in countries around the world. Each student chapter is affiliated to an SPE section allowing students to interact with practicing professionals and benefit from technology discussions at section meetings. Universidad del Zulia SPE Student Chapter is located in Maracaibo, Venezuela. It is associated to the Petroleum Engineering School of Faculty of Engineering (FING) at the Universidad del Zulia (LUZ).
