Speak Confidently

Want to be able to be a confident speaker, whether for work, study, or in social settings? Does anxiety and fear sometimes get in the way, even when talking with people we know? The good news is you don’t have to overcome this anxiety and fear to become a confident speaker. You can learn how to manage and work with it to your advantage and gain the ability to be a persuasive communicator. The only way to do this is to learn and then practise. We support you in doing this; to achieve your goal to speak confidently. Our courses are interactive, in small groups (maximum eight people) and give everybody the opportunity to give talks to the group and receive supportive feedback on their talks. They also use ZOOM breakout rooms for activities and provide you with the opportunity to meet and network with a motivated community. We also offer a hybrid course option. This involves the four week online course and then two in person sessions at a venue near the Auckland CBD. These sessions will provide opportunities to practice in a face-to-face environment on top of the practice in the online course. Through these courses you will: - Learn strategies to manage anxiety about public speaking. - Learn how to design and structure an engaging talk - Learn how to use your voice and body to increase the impact of your talk. - Give two talks and receive supportive feedback on them. - Meet and network with a motivated group of people - Learn how to use visual aids effectively in both an online and face-to-face environment - Learn strategies for impromptu speaking and have lots of opportunity to practice - Have lots of fun!
