About Special Networks

A unique, multidisciplinary team of specialists with both lived and learned experience of neurodiversity, bringing evidence-based knowledge and professional skills to our work with people, places and products. Our work, whether consulting, therapy, research or training, can challenge the conventional. As a network the four areas that we focus on are all interconnected - the merging of perspectives, projects and people offer us ever evolving ways of conceiving and addressing problems. Consultancy Our consultancy is centred around co-production and co-design. We are committed to working together with you to design and deliver impactful changes through simple, sustainable solutions. For us, consultancy without context is meaningless; theory and lived experience all have equal value and this is reflected in the way we deliver our services Therapy Our neuroaffirmative therapy spans multiple approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy. Finding common ground and taking a curious, human-to-human, rather than therapist-to-client approach is essential to our practice. We aim to support everyone we work with to develop greater psychological flexibility, helping them manage the uncertainties and challenges of everyday life. Research We carry primary and secondary research. Our projects can range from small scale rapid evidence reviews to large scale impact evaluations. We are evidence-informed and data conscious but also person-centred in our approaches. We also think whole-systems and take a wide angle view on our projects. Training Our training is practical, contextualised and engaging. We work with you to design an experience that will have impact far beyond the session/s that are delivered. We create a space for those who attend to be reminded of their value and the role they can play in reshaping systems that disconnect to ones that recognise the inherent variability in us all.
