Non-Destructive Road Surveillance Testing and Laboratory Testing of Bituminous Road Building Materials.
In a very limited period of time, SRT has grown from inauguration in 1997 to an independent company representing through its shareholding no less than three large civil engineering consulting firms, two commercial laboratories, one large civil engineering contracting firm and one large asphalt manufacturing firm.
Shareholders with directors on the board are: Much Asphalt, JG Afrika, Zutari, Ultra Asphalt and Soilco Materials Investigation, whilst Civilab and Royal HaskoningDHV have minority shares.
The Road Surveillance Testing is operated from the SRT-Gauteng branch situated in Jetpark, whilst the Bitumen and Asphalt Laboratory is operated by SRT-KZN branch situated in Pinetown.
SRT-Gauteng is ISO 9001:2008 accredited and SRT-KZN is SANAS 17025 (#T0226) accredited covering specific tests. The Quality Management Systems applied puts SRT in a position to continue providing quality service to our clients. The implementation of the structured continuous educational/training programme will ensure that technology is well understood and applied effectively.
SRT staff members who were previously disadvantaged have earned their positions in the management structure and are contributing to the wellbeing of the company. SRT is working towards a staff make-up representative of the country’s technical workforce.
SRT has a wide range of specialised equipment at its disposal for road surveillance testing, whilst our laboratory is equipped to meet the latest requirements of Asphalt design protocol and PG Binder specification testing.
SRT was formed to ensure that the latest technology available and high-tech equipment is used in obtaining information for road asset management systems and the design of asphalt pavements, is available in the country.
SRT must ensure profitability to sustain investment in cutting edge technology.
