Specialty Structures USA is a group of Architects and Engineers with a passion for Research and Innovation in the construction industry – buildings & bridges. Founded by Architect Mark Tiedman and Architect-Engineer Maqsood Ahmed, our team of experts have helped build creative projects in over 20 countries with innovative materials and shapes. We partner with Research centers in academia as well as cutting edge industry experts across the world in creating and promoting new technologies for the design community – Students, Researchers, Architects, Engineers, Contractors & Clients. Why we do what we do ? Majority of innovative ideas from the sketch pad of Architects don’t get built. Un-conventional ideas get side lined by Structural engineers due to non-availability of design expertise. If and when such ideas do get passed through the engineer’s desk and make it to the bidding stage, creative portion of the projects get side lined by contractors for “value engineering” not necessarily because of budgets, but because of lack of know-how on building such ideas. Thus we loose the opportunity to create new shapes – forms and loosing opportunity to use new materials.
