Its three titles; The County Down Spectator, established in 1904, The Newtownards Chronicle, established in 1874, and The Mourne Observer, established in 1949, have remained a pillar of the local community for over 110 years. “We are a 4th generation family business which operates under three core values, core values which have remained the same since we first opened our doors to publish our first newspaper on Friday 3rd June 1904; community, trust and accountability. We are passionate about local journalism and believe the service we provide makes the communities of North Down a better place to live, work and raise a family.
