SPE Student Chapter - University of Port Harcourt (SPE UNIPORT)

The University of Port Harcourt SPE Student Chapter aims at enhancing the professionalism and technical competence of her members. We are passionate about bridging the gap between students and the industry, thereby developing future professionals who are technically grounded, with excellent interpersonal and strong leadership skills. We are a dependent subsidiary of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International. The SPE is a global institution whose purpose is to promote technical knowledge in the upstream oil industry. It also helps to develop a network of relationships with oil & gas professionals all around the world. Our Student Chapter is located in the University of Port Harcourt, and is a part of the SPE Port Harcourt Section. At SPE University of Port Harcourt, we strive to make the following opportunities accessible to our students and members: ~ networking with industry professionals and possible employers. ~ benefits from technology discussions at SPE meetings and events. ~ receiving society sponsored scholarships. Our Chapter is vibrant and innovative, organizing technical lectures, excursions, paper contest, short courses and social activities for students. We regularly host activities that bring industry professionals in contact with students and vice versa. We are dedicated to promoting a healthy academic competition, creativity, and strong leadership skills amongst others.
