Riva has conducted more than 150 interviews with people living with diabetes, family members and diabetes professionals to inform her work and coaches patients to achieve better health. In 2009 and 2010, Riva's expertise was sought by various companies including Roche, and she works with Can-Am Care as a communications advisor.
