Spiral’s platform promotes active student engagement, with the teacher able to assess students at the time of learning. We have developed a range of learning activity types used every day in classrooms: individual work, whole class discussions, quizzes, polls, video-based learning, presentations and projects, group and team-work. It provides the scaffolding for every student in the class to actively participate in every lesson (Active Learning) and allows the teacher to assess what every student is doing, and whether they have grasped the concept being taught (Formative Assessment). This assessment in daily lessons (vs tests taken weeks later) is the teaching intervention that has the greatest impact on improving student performance.
Spiral was launched in 2016. Spiral has grown to 750,000 registered teachers and students, in 11,000 schools in 64 countries. Most of this acquisition has been done via teacher to teacher word of mouth and social media. 55% of our users are US based.
