The Springfield Area Arts Council (SAAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1976 in Springfield, Illinois. Our mission is to enrich the community by providing creative opportunities to participate in and enjoy the arts. We achieve this by supporting arts and cultural initiatives in Springfield and the surrounding communities of Sangamon and Menard counties.
As a granting agency, SAAC is committed to fostering the visual, performing, and literary arts in the greater Springfield area. In addition to supporting local organizations, we also host our own programming throughout the year, bringing diverse arts experiences directly to the community.
We believe in embracing all creative efforts and stand ready to collaborate with those dedicated to education and community-led solutions that promote the arts.
