Squawker

Closed in 2019, Squawker was a software technology firm authorised by the UK FCA, which provided a platform for settlement booking of transactions onto trading venues for central counterpart settlement and complete Straight-Through Processing. Focused on European, Japanese and US Equity Finance and Govie Fixed Income Securities Finance solutions, Squawker supported cash transactions for DeltaOne and Prime Financing desks at Investment Banks to hedge Total Return Swap derivative positions.  Historical services included Convertible Bond trading supporting outright and swaps, price proposal and RFQ workflows, and an Agency Equity Block solution, supporting the sourcing of block liquidity between institutional agency brokers. Notable achievements included: • Raised £7m in capital from investors (combination of private and VC). • Accomplished implementation at 9 out of the top 10 investment banks in Europe. • Reached annualised revenue of over £3 million. • Gained UK FCA authorisation, successfully pivoted the business in response to MiFID ii, and won Japanese FSA consent.
