The ERASMUS+ project “SSPICE IT! - Sustainability Skills Program for International Catering operators and Entrepreneurs through Integrated Training”, is a project, approved and financed by INAPP - National Institute for the Analysis of Public Policies, which will allow collaboration with a network of 7 foreign partners to reach following objectives: • Updating and adapting VET courses in the food and catering sector to the changed scenario of the labor market, introducing training modules and learning moments centered on the acquisition of green and digital skills, as well as entrepreneurial skills; • Increase the awareness of educators and learners of the centrality that sustainability has assumed in the food sector as well and of the implications this entails in terms of new skills required at various professional levels; • Promote the acquisition of all-round green skills in the food and catering sector (choice of supply chains/products, cooking processes, saving and reusing resources, reducing waste and waste, ethics and inclusion in the management of a sector, etc.); • Facilitate the experimentation of innovative sustainable practices in the management of VET centres; • Support the updating and professional development of teachers/trainers on sustainability in the food and restaurant sector; • Facilitate the assessment and recognition of skills acquired through the use of an innovative assessment tool that allows for a more complete assessment of skills acquired through the use of gamification; • Create a community of practice which fosters stable cooperation between VET centres, research centres, enterprises, authorities/authorities responsible for planning and updating curricula; • Provide guidelines to VET providers and planning authorities on how to update VET curricula (especially initial) with modules and moments of learning, including dual, aimed at acquiring green skills and digital demands in the sector.
