Singapore Sikh Professional Network

The Covid-19 pandemic has not only hit us hard but seems to be here to stay for a while. The crisis has led to a lacklustre market, with companies tightening their hires and even laying off workers. Entering the labour force at a time like this presents several challenges to young graduates; lesser opportunities, more stringent criteria and the need to reinvent yourself to be an attractive choice for the opportunity at hand, amongst others. Heartfelt discussions with young Sikh graduates trying to find their footing in these turbulent times, led to the birth of the Singapore Sikh Professional Network (SSPN) in February 2020. SSPN was formed to empower Singaporean Sikhs to Connect, Contribute and Create. Connections are crucial in a competitive and complex labour market. The ability to create and contribute in your own right, is also increasingly valued by companies as freelance and flexible employment become commonplace in our new normal. At SSPN, we hope to leverage our connections and expertise to maximise the opportunities Sikh graduates can pursue. Since its formation, SSPN has conducted various sessions for the Sikh Society students from the local universities, which include CV Building, Staying Relevant in the New Normal and Virtual Interview Skills.
