STA, Sönmez Textiles Advanced, is the first step taken by Sönmez Holding, which has been one of the leading companies in the Turkish textile industry since 1970, in the composite industry. Fabrics for the composite industry are produced by using glass, carbon and aramid fibers at STA facilities with a current capacity of 5,000 tons/year.
STA's product range consists of four groups; Multiaxial, RTM, Woven and Peel-Ply fabrics. In the multiaxial group, UD, Biaxial, Triaxial and Quadriaxial fabrics processed without folds are produced in 250 mm - 2.540 mm width and 150 g/m2 - 4.000 g/m2 weight ranges. Fabrics under the brand ST-CORE are produced for RTM and L-RTM molding methods. Thanks to the special sewing system developed by STA, Class A surface can be obtained in Gel-Coat-applied composites in which ST-CORE fabric is used.
In addition Peel Ply fabrics are produced in accordance with standard, high temperature and high pressure molding methods.
It supplies STA, ISO 9001, Turkish Lyoyd and RINA certified products to domestic and international automotive, construction, marine, GRP pipes, wind energy, defense industry and aviation sectors.
