Staircase To Exordium

Staircase to Exordium is a student-led art installation and the only UK-based recipient of a Burning Man 2025 Honoraria grant. Created by a team of Master's in Architecture students at the University of Westminster, the piece explores transformation, reflection, and new beginnings. Drawing from the ethos of Burning Man, creativity, connection, and community, the installation invites participants to shift perspective, embrace change, and step into the unknown. Built from off-the-shelf timber and designed for sustainability, Staircase to Exordium is prefabricated in London and will be assembled on the playa before disappearing without a trace. It is both a sculptural structure and a cultural statement, a moment of pause in a landscape of constant motion. As students, we’re pouring everything into this vision.
