St. Ann's College for Women, Hyderabad, India

Over Three thousand students flock each morning to begin yet another day of courses and lectures at St. Ann’s college. An ongoing efforts and endeavor of the congregation of Sisters of St. Anne, St. Ann's College for Women was set up to further the cause of women education and thus their empowerment. The college, which made a humble beginning in 1983, with just two programs, two rooms and 106 students, is today a huge institution with excellent infrastructure and three thousands five hundred and seventy students at the UG and PG level in thirty program options. It subscribes to a judicial blend of the conservative and modern trends, envisioning the empowerment of a girl student through academic excellence, skill enhancement and value enrichment. The college offered itself for assessment by NAAC in the year 2006 and 2011 and 2016.The concerted efforts towards quality goals culminated in the award of ‘A+’ grade. Further recognition as a “College with Potential for Excellence” by UGC followed twice in the years 2010 and 2014 and subsequently in 2015, it was granted the Autonomous Status. The College is also recognized as UGC Paramarsh Mentee Institution to mentor other colleges in their accreditation process. As part of our ongoing quality initiative, the college established Institution's Innovation Council - IIC in 2019. Most recently, the college was awarded the ISO certification ( ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001:2015) in October, 2021. The appeal of the college cuts across social, financial, cultural and linguistic barriers. The effort is to foster a culturally rich campus, reinforce the need for an ethical component, integrity and social concern, which in addition to academic excellence and skill enhancement constitutes the whole educational experience.
