Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail. STAR is a not-for-profit, dues paying organization composed of manufacturers, dealers, and retail system providers in the automotive industry. The goal of STAR is to use IT standards to as a catalyst in fulfilling the business information needs of dealers and manufacturers while reducing the time and effort previously required to support this activity. By collectively developing industry standards and researching technologies for the benefits of dealers, the time and effort to required to support related activities is drastically reduced, resulting in more efficient workflow processes.
