Start Something Good

Start Something Good is commercial product from Cwmpas - Wales’ largest development agency. It applies methods from tried and tested fields of design thinking and innovation within the context of co-design, coproduction, and community development to find fresh ideas for social change. Favouring “cooperation over completion”, Start Something Good has redesigned the traditional “hackathon” methodology from the tech industry and adapted it for a social purpose; 1) we take a particular social challenge, 2) we work in small, multiple, diverse teams to explore the challenge from different perspectives, and 3) identify and develop fresh ideas for social change. These “challenges” could involve anything from exploring a local social issue, to the co-design of a public service.
