Start-Up Mentors was launched in 2012 as an online mentoring/coaching business. We primarily reached overseas business start-ups that we helped to reach business success through online mentoring sessions via Skype, Facebook, WhatsApp, E-Mail, and other platforms. We decided in 2018 to start an offline version to benefit our local communities. Mentoring or Coaching is a relatively new concept in South Africa, business coaching helps you, the business owner, to achieve business success by providing an independent view of your business processes and behaviours and helping you to identify your goals and the action plans necessary to achieve them. Business ownership can be one of the most rewarding challenges you will face, but it can also be lonely, and you are a martyr if you think you can – or need to – do it on your own. A business coach is an advisor, a mentor, a partner, a motivator, someone to keep you focused and hold you accountable. Business coaching is not consulting, we do not tell you what to do, and we don’t do the work for you. By asking the right questions, and drawing on your unique knowledge and skills, and mentoring you where there are gaps, we facilitate growth and learning to make business decisions that impact positively on your bottom line. We’ll help you realize your full potential by giving you the knowledge, tools, vision, and motivation to take you and your business to the next level. Does the coach need industry-specific expertise? In our experience, business challenges boil down to one of three things – Time, Team, Money. It doesn’t matter what industry you are in, the business challenges are all the same, so there is no industry knowledge required to work with clients.
