The SAO represents the modern, independent and successful audit institution with the highest professional standards, the interference in the activity of which is prohibited by the law. With its work SAO supports the parliament in overseeing the activities of the government and significantly contributes to the Parliamentary oversight over the government. The SAO presents findings to the Parliament on the activities of the government entities and thus promotes their accountability to the parliament and the general public. The Parliament, public society and media representatives often use and rely on the audit reports, professional findings and assessments of the State Audit Office. Through participation in the implementation of the National Anticorruption Policy, SAO facilitates the establishment of corruption free public management system and also protects the interests of the taxpayers – we serve for public welfare. Our Strategic goals are following: Support the parliamentary oversight over the government through our audit Work; Support government reforms aimed at improving government accountability; Promote transparency and accountability in political party financing; Enhance the institutional capacity of the SAO to foster the quality of our work.
