Statgraphics' origins derive from the need for a simple yet powerful tool for teaching statistic classes. It was developed by Dr. Neil Polhemus while he served on the faculty of Princeton University. Dr. Polhemus was drawn to the field of data analytics by the distinguished Princeton University Professor, Dr. J. Stuart Hunter, who mentored him while he was a student pursuing a PhD in the Princeton School of Engineering.
