Station for Transformation Overview

As part of the European Urban Initiative (EUI), an exciting network of partners is transforming some unused spaces in the railway area of Rovereto into a public-civic hub supporting the ecological transition of the Vallagarina territory. The Station for Transformation project, which will run from March 2024 to August 2027, aims to make a series of tangible actions attractive to address and mitigate the consequences of climate change and biodiversity loss. S4T explores these overarching themes through the lenses of agri-food, social inclusion, green cities, and tourism. The project includes the following spaces and actions: Biodiversity Kiosk, Co-creation Space for Climate and Biodiversity, Climate Canteen, S4T on Wheels, Community Space: the Community Academy and Transfer Towns. Throughout the project’s duration, a residency program and a system of financial schemes will be established to support virtuous local initiatives. The project is coordinated by the Municipality of Rovereto, with a network of partners including: Comunità della Vallagarina, La Foresta - Community Academy, Brave New Alps, Trentino Social Tank, University of Trento/Department of Sociology and Social Research, Center for International Cooperation, Europe Consulting, and Campomarzio, with support from Ferrovie dello Stato/Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.
