The idea of system ARGUS has appeared in 1998. The name – is even more senior, it comes from ancient Greek mythology. All-seeing Argus, the son of the Agenor or Inah – the giant multocular who has overcome a monstrous bull, the never sleeping guard.
RTC (research & technical centre) ARGUS was created as self-supporting laboratory as a part of Leningrad branch-wise research institute of telecommunications (LONIIS) in 1999. In May, 2007 STC ARGUS became an independent company belonging to the Group of companies «Ekrantelecom».
Till now, ARGUS platform has passed a long way from a simple subsystem to the centralized maintenance department to full-scale OSS/BSS solution. It supports not only peculiarity of traditional telephone systems (PSTN) providers like companies in «Svyazinvest» Holding, but also the newest telecommunication technologies and approaches of NGOSS concept.
