Founded in 2003, we are a private investment firm that successfully acquires, manages and grows middle-market businesses. Our goal is to provide attractive exit options for owners and operators of medium sized companies and to provide divestiture opportunities for divisions of corporate parent companies that no longer reflect the company’s strategic focus. We will invest in underperformers situations where the company has a strong market position or franchise value. We are an investment consortium: a partnership of selected individuals, family offices and institutional investors who bring relevant experience and expertise to our companies. Most of our investors have personally built and run substantial businesses, and we have spent our careers investing with, advising and working alongside business owners. We understand and respect the nature and culture of smaller entrepreneurial companies. Our value creation model focuses on the long term through operational effectiveness, business model innovation and operational efficiency or discipline. From our perspective, capital is a catalyst for the value creation process, however, despite being necessary it is insufficient to create value. We take an active role on portfolio company boards of directors and work closely with management teams on strategic, leadership, operational and financial issues. Accordingly, we are patient investors who understand that it takes time to build significant companies of lasting value to customers, employees, stockholders and communities. We purposely pursue a limited number of high-impact investments. This allows us to devote resources, energy and time towards accelerating the development of each portfolio company.
