At its roots, STEP Academy is a learning institution dedicated to enhancing technical and life skills among rural youth, with a focus on creating access to dignified work.
Since its founding in 2005 under the incubation of Aajeevika Bureau, a leading labor rights organization, STEP’s mission has been to support youth who are on the threshold of entering the workforce as migrants. STEP’s goal is to uplift them and provide opportunities outside of low-wage, hazardrous work in the informal economy.
We envision a future where young individuals from marginalized communities are equipped with the skills demanded by the market and can access dignified, secure, and gainful employment.
Through collaborative efforts with the private sector and targeted interventions for marginalized communities, we are committed to creating a skilled, resilient, and future-ready workforce
Our mission is to empower rural, tribal, migrant youth in India by providing high-quality, market-relevant skill training and facilitating access to secure and dignified employment.
