Sterling Ventures, LLC doing business as Sterling Materials, based in Verona, Ky and offices in Lexington, Ky, provides infrastructure materials that are required by the American economy. Sterling is a leading producer of construction aggregates and a major supplier to the asphalt and ready-mixed concrete industries in Northern Kentucky. Sterling produces aggregates, primarily crushed stone, that is used in nearly all forms of construction. In particular, large quantities of aggregates are used to build roads and nonresidential properties. In addition, Sterling supplies high calcium limestone, sometimes referred to as chemical limestone, to the lime industry. Sterling's chemical limestone is mined from our 3rd level in the Camp Nelson formation which consists of limestone with an average calcium carbonate content above 95%. Chemical limestone can be used in steel production, mineral feeds, poultry grits, and other industries where high calcium carbonate content is required.
