Stichting Present Smallingerland stimuleert en organiseert maatschappelijke betrokkenheid van burgers, bedrijven, kerken, buurten en andere sociale verbanden. Op projectbasis zetten deze groepen zich in voor mensen die te maken hebben met armoede, een slechte gezondheid of een sociaal isolement. Bijvoorbeeld door met een groep collega’s de woonkamer te sauzen van een alleenstaande moeder. Present is sinds 2008 actief in Smallingerland en jaarlijks zetten enkele honderden vrijwilligers zich in.
