Stirling Karate

Stirling Karate – Japanese Karate Association - SKC. The dojo is based at the Stirling Community Center - 2 Nerita Way in Karrinyup, Perth. Stirling Karate offers karate classes for 3 – 5 year old dinkys, 7 – 12 year old children,Teenage an adult beginners as well as a and senior belt classes. The club is headed by Sensei Karin Prinsloo and Sensei Graz Prinsloo. Karate literally means the way of the empty hand referring to the fact that its practitioners use no weapons to attack and defend but only the hands, feet and body. Stirling karate has had national representation at JKA international tournaments and Sensei Karin has had great success in coaching top karate students over the last twenty years. Sensei Karin teaches and mentors the senior classes students at Stirling Karate to achieve in their respective area of karate. Sensei Graz is a third dan instructor with over twelve years teaching experience. She represented South Africa in Karate as well as a field hockey goalkeeper at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Sensei Graz runs the Junior classes at Stirling Karate. The clubs values of Character, Sincerity, Effort, Etiquette and self control are values all students in the club strive to. 3 -5 year old classes are offered in a less formal environment. The club foster a love for karate with a big focus on gross motor skill development and the introduction of anti bullying techniques. 7 – 12 year old classes are when children enter formal karate training for the first time. Children thrive on the structure and learning to do things they never thought they could. There is also a very big focus on teaching children to strengthen their minds and character. 13 + and adult beginner classes are also offered with there being no age cap on anyone wishing to practice karate. There are so many benefits that karate offers. It can be equated to the school of life.
