About Psychology Student Alliance
About Us – The Four Branches of P.S.A. P.S.A. devotes itself to providing opportunities for our members to follow their interests related to psychology. You do not need to be a psychology major in order to join this organization. Our goal is to provide you with a fun and educational environment in which you may grow as a student leader, develop close friendships with fellow students, and gain priceless experience to prepare you for your future in academia as well as with your career. Our mission statement of “Building Research, Advocacy, Diversity, and Networking” truly captures the essence of this organization. Research: Throughout the year, P.S.A. will provide our members with opportunities to learn what research is taking place on the Stony Brook campus as well as throughout the world. You will hear from researchers on campus about the work they are doing, openings in their labs, and ways that you can find your path as a researcher in the many fields of psychology. This organization has long been concerned with struggling demographics and our role in supporting their efforts toward a fairer world to live in. P.S.A. will provide our students with many opportunities throughout the year to follow their passions for advocacy, bring their own ideas or issues to public scope, and see the world become a better place to live in. Diversity: P.S.A., formerly “Minorities in Psychology”, has a long history of encouraging diversity, educating our community on this topic, as well as providing an environment in which all students feel comfortable and welcome. Our doors are open to people from all avenues of life and we take our role seriously in educating Stony Brook University, as well as our community, about today’s issues regarding diversity. Diversity is a word with many meanings. We look forward to exploring them all with yo
