STOOF specializes in crafting custom-made induction cooktops tailored to the unique needs of professional kitchens. Founded in 1960 Vermandere began as a small family owned workshop focused on plow repairs. However, when a local monastery sought a custom cooker hood, the Vermandere family’s craftsmanship set the stage for what would become a key part of the kitchen equipment industry. In 1995, the company moved to its current location in Gullegem, after reaching the limits of expansion in Heule. Over three generations, Vermandere grew the business until it was taken over in 2019 by Karel Lafosse and Benjamin Vandorpe, who brought new energy and vision to the company. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Vermandere expanded its portfolio with the creation of HandsHero, a brand specializing in touch-free disinfectant dispensers. The company further innovated in 2022 with the launch of the STOOF induction cooktops, designed for the specific needs of professional kitchens. In 2023, STOOF, Lafosse, Vermandere, and HandsHero consolidated their activities under the LAVA Group BV, with Bo Samaey joining as a partner. Today, STOOF stands at the forefront of kitchen innovation, delivering durable, hygienic, and flexible cooking solutions for chefs and culinary professionals worldwide.
