“Storm Ridge” was named after a destructive storm that hit the Yarra Valley in September of 1993. During the time, we were constructing a cellar door on top of a ridge, overlooking the spectacular views of Yarra Valley. When the builders completed the cellar door, a fierce storm hit Yarra Valley. A storm so strong, the force of the winds destroyed the entire top floor completely. This tragic even made headlines all over local papers, as “Winery destroyed on a Stormy Ridge”. Despite this adversity, a sunrise will always emerge following the darkest storms and what was once a tragedy, became the origin of Storm Ridge Estate.
