StoryLab

The StoryLab is a student/alumni-centered innovation hub, designed to translate our research around industry sustainability and development via supporting the next generation of creative entrepreneurs in producing projects and potential business ventures aimed at sectors including media and communications, health, education, finance, and the creative industries. This will also present an opportunity to diversify entrepreneurism within the creative sectors and provide a platform for change. Through interdisciplinary learning and collaboration with industry, students will be given the opportunity to explore technological innovations including the impact of AI, XR, and Robotics, work with leading researchers and practitioners, and receive funding to develop a minimum viable product for market. The project will build upon the entrepreneurial skills and creative innovation already being developed with in the school through modules and courses within JOMEC. Partnered with Tramshed Tech, as well as leading industry figures from the BBC, Financial industry (Guild of Entrepreneurs) and Tech, offering facilities, expertise, and mentoring partnership, the StoryLab will allow students to build on proof-of-concept projects whilst engaging with business and enterprise, and developing skills and experience in design thinking and rapid prototyping.
