Storytime is the UK’s only story magazine and one of the leading magazines for children, used by thousands of teachers and parents in over 70 countries.
Storytime is a quality children’s magazine that helps to improve literacy with great content that families can keep forever.
Over 800 illustrated stories have appeared in the pages of Storytime, from the familiar to the new, including myths, fables, fairy tales and real-life stories. We’re keen to showcase tales from around the world, and it’s important that whatever a child’s background they see themselves represented in our stories.
We have two main audiences – parents who buy Storytime to read, love and share with their children, and schools who get the magazines in bulk for guided reading, class storytelling, or for Pupil Premium funded children.
We are a social enterprise and offer Storytime at heavily subsidised prices to schools and other businesses. We are particularly proud of the tens of thousands of copies sent out to children with limited digital access during the lockdowns of 2020-21. From surveying our readers, we know that after a year, the proportion of children reading for more than the recommended 20 minutes a day doubled. We have a strong licensing programme and publishers have had success by adapting Storytime to their local markets. There are international versions in China, Singapore, Australia, India & more.
We also license individual stories to publishers and Ed tech companies globally. Our stories are also all available in audio format. Our content has been adapted for storybooks, textbooks, early reader & levelled reading booklets, assessment materials and reading apps.
