Straits Consulting Engineers Sdn Bhd was established on 8 August 1990 and started its business by providing geotechnical and management expertise to Kinta Kellas plc (now Opus International pic) and United Engineers (M) Bhd from September 1990 to December 2001.
Straits was involved in the project management and construction of the North-South Expressway (PLUS), the KLIA, the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), the Malaysia-Singapore Second Crossing (LINKEDUA), the National Sports Complex (NSC) at Bukit Jalil, the Putra LRT, the Manila-Cavite Expressway, the Kualiti Alam hazardous waste treatment facility at Bukit Nenas, Negeri Sembilan, and several hospitals in Sabah and Sarawak.
Now, Straits is a multi-discipline engineering consulting firm providing quality service in numerous markets in Malaysia and globally.
