As snowsurfers, our approach leans towards minimalism and utility. Keeping it clean and simple from topsheet design through technical construction.
THE BUILD
Longevity of performance and quality in production is prima- ry at Stranda. We start out with good wood, selecting the best bits, keeping A-grade straight grain lumber. Then painstak- ingly cutting and gluing them to Stranda cores at the factory. Center stage of all our boards is white ash. A slow growing hardwood with a bending strength 2.2 times compared to poplar, the most common wood used. The majority of our sol- ids uses bamboo veneer topsheets, adding both to ride quality and look.
THE RIDE
We do not believe in downsizing on edge length. There’s a direct connection to how much weight a board can hold in a clean carved turn, in relation to how much edge is in contact with the snow.
WHERE WE COME FROM
Our roots are firmly planted in the Scandinavian Mountains where you can ride powder straight out into the North Sea. But also experience some of the iciest conditions possible, that’s why we shape for bad snow and optimize edgehold.
