Stranded Technologies Podcast

In this show, we talk about how to accelerate the future by unblocking so-called "stranded technologies". What are stranded technologies? Think of advanced drugs for longevity, tokenised assets, alternative education, clean low-cost energy or robo-fabrication of buildings. These technologies exist already. But why don’t we use them yet at scale? It’s not always for market-related reasons. The thesis of this podcast is that the adoption of these technologies is often blocked by political obstacles, red tape and overregulation. Yet the future could be now. We could already be richer, live longer lives and let robots do more work for us - if we unblock these stranded technologies. This podcast is not only about the practice of innovation, it is also about ethics: - How can we unblock vast opportunities, while mitigating against the risks? - How can entrepreneurs overcome obstacles to work on frontiers, while responsible? - What ethical rules and institutional regulations can guide us on that path?
