About Strandloper Project

The Strandloper Project has evolved into two core marine research focuses. Original research began studying the impact of recreational fishing on marine biodiversity through ghost fishing, lead poisoning, reef damage and avian entanglements. To complement this this research, we began research into the density and distribution of ocean plastic waste to determine the source of inflow into the ocean through rivers and municipal infrastructure.
