Welcome to the University of Strathclyde Judo Club!
Judo is a martial art, born in Japan, and now known around the world as an Olympic sport. No matter if it’s your first time stepping on the mat, or if you show up in a black belt, our sessions are a great way to add fun and fitness into your uni life with 3 sessions weekly to allow you to learn, train and grow.
Led by our experienced coach, John Watt 6th Dan, we work both towards gradings where you can work your way through the coloured belts by learning and practicing techniques, and also towards competitions. We compete in the university competition circuit, where categories are split by gender, weight and ability which means everyone has a fair chance to fight.
