Stronger Than Stigma® (“STS”) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit headquartered in Jacksonville, dedicated to mental health advocacy for millennials. Designed to be a “for us, by us” social movement, STS works to break down the barriers that keep people from reaching out for help and to eliminate the stigma around doing so.
STS focuses on creating meaningful experiences—in person and online—to bring people together and prove that no one is alone in their struggle. STS believes that the millennial generation will be the force behind this needed social change and it’s leading the way, one experience at a time.
STS was founded in 2013, while the founders were college students. They opened the original student-led chapter at the University of Florida and are working to grow the movement beyond Gainesville and Jacksonville.
