The sea is a natural carbon sink, capturing over 40% of the annual carbon emissions yearly. With current carbon capture technology, Strym aims to use existing infrastructure like tidal energy centres to provide the flow of seawater used in the carbon capture process. Carbon can be extracted, then stored, or recycled using a reversible process consisting of membrane-free electrochemical cells.
