Student Tailoring Services

Student Tailoring Services is a campus-based mending and alteration business that caters to Boston University students. Founded by Samantha Sanders, a current BU undergrad with years of artistic experience across a wide range of mediums. Sanders attended the High School of Art and Design in NYC, where she majored in Fashion Design—earning a Career and Technical Education diploma, NOCTI Apparel and Textile Production and Merchandising Certification, Scholastic Art and Writing Award Silver Key for Fashion Design, and a $7,000 Scholarship for Corset Design from the The Under Fashion Club. As an artist, designer, and seamstress, her a goal is to use all materials to every last scrap. With Student Tailoring Services, she hopes to transform tailoring into a sustainable force and pave the way toward a greener, more stylish future! Her company mission is to make tailoring more accessible and affordable for college students, and reduce textile waste through up-cycling.
