Studio 7 is a boutique high-end recording studio based in North East London, owned and operated by songwriter and producer Laurence Loveless. Designed for both creativity and technical excellence, the studio features a control room, live room, and vocal booth—all acoustically treated for pristine sound quality. At the heart of the studio is a rare piece of music history: Conny Plank’s 56-channel handmade mixing desk, originally housed in the legendary Conny’s Studio in Cologne. This iconic console helped shape classic albums by Kraftwerk, Daf, Flock of Seagulls, Brian Eno, Ultravox, Eurythmics, Echo and the Bunnymen, Scorpions, and many more. Since it's relocation to the UK 'The Plank' has recorded and mixed many modern classic album's by artists like Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Creations, Buzzocks and Years and Years. It continues to power world-class recordings at Studio 7 today. Our hybrid analogue-digital setup includes 40 channels of multitrack I/O, running through Universal Audio Apollo interfaces, and supports all major DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic, Luna, Ableton, FL Studio). Artists and producers have access to an extensive collection of vintage hardware, instruments, and UA plug-ins, making Studio 7 ideal for projects across genres—from R&B and rock to experimental and electronic. With a balance of vintage character and modern workflow, Studio 7 offers an inspiring and professional environment for music creation at the highest level.
