LAMYA is based in Sofia, Bulgaria and is an ethical, sustainable and responsible small business. The brand uses natural, organic and non-toxic materials that are kind to the planet and to people. All products are free of plastic and metal components. Suppliers are selected through careful consideration, with local businesses taking priority. Some of the certificates that the label uses are: GOTS, Ecovero, OEKO-TEX. Currently LAMYA works on order basis in an effort to eliminate over-production. The brand takes inspiration from the vast, magnificent and colourful world of the Bulgarian folklore - the name LAMYA coming from an old mythical dragon-like creature, that guards gold & treasures, as well as water resources. LAMYA is most known for the re-creation of traditional Bulgarian national costume motives called "shevitzi" into modern, fresh and fun prints. The company believes in eco-friendly and ethical causes, taking part in the Fashion Revolution movement, supporting WWF and providing a selection of 100% vegan products. The business looks into expanding its customer base and into providing colour to the usually nude & monochrome sustainable fashion world.
