We believe that the stories behind patterns are an antidote to a world jaded by what we see on our newsfeeds. Studio Merpati designs surface patterns inspired by various objects found in the Asian archipelago, drawing inspiration from history, architecture and nature. Run by a brother-sister duo with a passion for design, we have a long-standing relationship with colour that dates back to our childhood days. A colour's ability to reflect moods, emotions, visions, status and personalities is a powerful tool in communicating what words cannot.
