Founded in 2017, the young Franco-Italian brand Studio Sirio started a new generation of kids rugs.
The founder, Aurore Martial, wanted to mix her love for kids, design and quality natural material to create rugs “with a twist”.
Her collections feature animal shaped rugs in neutral colours infused with cuteness, rugs that transport you right in the middle of Wonderland, and more geometric ones. All the rugs are hand made by skilled craftsmen in India, home to the best rugs in the world, in 100% New Zealand wool: the softest and best possible quality for rugs. They are therefore hypoallergenic and extremely soft and bouncy.
Aurore had her first child after a 10 years career in finance and the minute he was born, she knew she would never be able to leave him and go back to a “traditional job”. She wanted to work from home and it was clear that the next step would be entrepreneurial.
So she started her search for the perfect “business”: after organising numerous kids activities, she took interiors design classes and co-founded an online interior design company. During that time it became pretty clear that she loved designing kids rooms however she struggled to source great quality rugs with interesting designs. It was the beginning of the quest for the perfect material and designers to create her first collection that she wanted playful and full of personality at an affordable price. As an interior designer (and a Mum), Aurore knew exactly what was necessary to make statement rugs and transform rooms with little details that kids and parents love.
Aurore’s style is, unusually, the both ends of the spectrum: colourful & bold on the Dreamers collection; softer and comforting on the Friends in Disguise one. Having two very different kids made her realise that a “one fits all” collection was just not possible.
Every kid is unique, so are her rugs.
