Studio Joris de Groot

Studio Joris de Groot is a product design and research studio. Founder Joris de Groot is a designer searching for the tension between craftsmanship and industry in his work. Interested in collaborating with the industry, Joris creates his own workshop within the factory grounds. Once familiar with the process of the existing techniques, he experiments with the available machinery and materials for new innovative uses. With a background in Industrial Design and Product Design, Joris started his design studio in 2013, right after graduating from ArtEZ University of the Arts. Over the years Joris has worked with various manufacturers, which has given him a valuable knowledge in the field of production techniques and materials, and uses this knowledge to develop new products in the context of innovation and sustainability for a broad range of clients.
