About Studio Rat

Studio Rat is an emerging creative practice pursuing research and experimental design work between the cities of Toronto and Montréal. Since our founding in 2018 Studio Rat has worked to develop a series of pneumatic installations with various collaborators. These projects grew out of our interest in the history of pneumatic architecture and the playful softness and surrealism these spaces rapidly create. Studio Rat’s growing body of work flows between the fields of interior design, architecture and art, in a style that reflects our exploratory work in pneumatics. We are committed to experimental fabrication techniques & resource-sharing rooted in circular design principles.
