The SUCSEED Project is designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of VET trainers, agricultural professionals, farmers and seed industry experts in New Plant Breeding Tools and certified seed production techniques. By integrating digital and biotechnological innovations, the project addresses key challenges such as climate change, food security, and sustainable agriculture.
The project aims to enhance technical and practical competencies in agricultural education, promote the use of digital breeding tools, and create a strong network among key agricultural stakeholders. Participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in innovative seed production, engage in interactive training sessions, and collaborate with experts to develop solutions for sustainable farming.
SUCSEED is implemented through a partnership between EPAMAC (Portugal), IGEA (Turkey), and SDSN (Belgium), bringing together expertise in vocational education, agricultural innovation, and sustainable development. One of the key activities of the project is a practical field visit in Portugal, where participants will explore leading seed production companies, advanced genetic research labs, and innovative agricultural institutions.
As part of the project outputs, a comprehensive training curriculum will be developed, along with a networking platform that connects professionals across Europe. Additionally, a digital guidebook will provide valuable resources on plant breeding, certified seed production, and EU seed quality standards.
By bridging the gap between research, education, and practice, SUCSEED will contribute to more efficient, sustainable, and resilient agricultural practices. The project will empower professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to drive innovation in agriculture, ensuring a stronger and more sustainable future for the industry.
